A young man has been engaged for three years in a snail-farming project near the capital Rabat, the first of its kind in this region. Most of the farms are in Marrakech and Casablanca. The export market is up-and-coming because Spain and France are big consumers of snails, but about five years ago, the laboratories started using snail slime for cosmetic products.
